Award-winning Ghanaian artiste, Samini has shed more light on why there are no features on his 2019 Untamed Reggae album and has said his act was deliberate.
The gifted reggae/ dancehall artiste made this revelation in an interview with Accra based Hitz Fm on Thursday.
For an artiste as prolific as Samini, many would have though he would put some features on his project when he announced he was releasing the album that eventually crawled its way unto the Billboard charts.
Telling host Andy Dosty about what necessitated his actions, he said he wanted to stand out singularly as an artiste and was advised to do so by credible industry players in reggae music. “I wanted to stand out as a Ghanaian reggae artiste. It was deliberate. Even Loud City inspired that I keep it like that.” He said.
As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, Samini sited instances of prolific reggae musicians such as Lucky Dube who made a name worldwide for themselves but never featured any artistes on their projects, making them stand out completely in Reggae music.

He added that Grammy Award winning record label Sound City who he said worked on most of the project gave him that idea so he could prove to the world what Africans can do when they stand out. He further stated that he is the first African to work with such a prolific record label in reggae music.
