Attorney Joe Houston has been identified as the gunman who killed two people and himself at a Summerlin area law office this morning.

The victims include Houston’s ex-daughter-in-law, Ashley Prince, and her new husband, attorney Dennis Prince, sources say.

Reports from those same sources indicate that Joe Houston was representing his son, Dylan Houston (who is also a lawyer), in a child custody case with Ashley Prince – who was being represented by her new husband in the same case.

Attorney Joe Houston, Ashley Prince, and Dennis Prince were all present for a deposition in the custody dispute involving Ashley and her former spouse (Houston’s son). The former couple shares two young children.

It is reported that Houston shot Ashley and Dennis Prince before taking his own life. Sources also mention that the deceased couple (Dennis and Ashley Prince) had recently welcomed a new baby – their only child together.

Witness account

One worker who was in the building at the time gave her account to KTNV-TV.

“So when I was working, we heard noises, I heard some screaming,” said the woman.

At first, she believed someone might have brought their children into work, and they were the cause of the commotion.

It was not until she heard “male voices yelling” that she considered that her initial assessment was wrong.

“We didn’t really know what was going on,” she said.

The worker went on as normal, completing her meeting and heading to the bathroom; that was when she realized something was wrong.

“I went to the bathroom and was greeted by SWAT pointing guns at me telling me to get inside,” she recounted.

“That’s when we realized… this is serious.”
