Controversial dancehall act, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has said he would have made an appearance at Sarkodie’s ‘This Is Tema‘ concert which came off over the weekend at Tema if he had received a call from Sarkodie personally.
According to the artist, he would have made an appearance just to show some love to the streets.
Shatta Wale and Sarkodie until last year were best of friends as far as music was concerned, with the two making appearances at each others shows.
Their chemistry was crazy until the worst happened which made their relationship soar. At the recently held Reign Concert at Fantasy Dome, all the big names in Ghanaian music were there but Sarkodie to show some love.
In an interview with Accra based Starr Fm, the SM boss admitted to not calling Sarkodie to come perform at his Reign Concert but insisted that he wouldn’t have hesitated should he have received a call from Sarkodie inviting him to his free concert at Chemu Park inside Tema which also witnessed performances from an array of Ghanaian musicians. “If he had called me personally to say Shatta I didn’t come to your show because you didn’t call me personally but I am calling you personally to come, I would have been there so we have some party”, he said.
That not withstanding, Shatta Wale said he was happy with the way musicians are taking to the streets to play shows because that is where most fans who love artistes ideally are based.
He added that by doing so, you win their commitment and love the more.
