I Should Have Been Nominated For The Artiste Of The Decade- Tinny

Ever since Charter House, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards released nominations for the 20th edition of the awards scheme, lots of artistes have come out to show their displeasure in what they describe as an ‘unfair criteria’ for nominations.

The views of these artistes have sparked various debates and controversies among various music lovers and stakeholders across the country with some questioning the criteria used by Charter House while others support the legitimacy of the nomination scheme.

The latest artiste to wade into the topic is known Ga rapper Nii Addo Quaynor, popularly known as Tinny as he holds the view that he should have been part of the nominees for the artiste of the decade category.

The rapper was in an interview with Dr. Pounds of Accra based Hitz Fm on Friday when he made the submission.

As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, Aletse Kankpe as he is affectionately called said although he didn’t see his name in the list, he wasn’t surprised and didn’t allow it to bother him because it wasn’t the first time he has gone through that as artiste. “Nothing came in mind. Maybe its because I speak the truth.”

He added that he has been receiving messages from people who have followed his music over the years asking him why he wasn’t part of the nominations and he has no better answers for them rather than to say it doesn’t bother him because at the end of the day it’s a game.

He further stated that he wouldn’t go on social media to blast the organizers he isn’t that type of person.

The artiste of the year for the 20th VGMA is being keenly contested by Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, Efya, Becca, Nacee and No Tribe and Joe Mettle.
