Ghana’s favourite Academy, West African Football Academy( WAFA) have put your bed rumors saying the club have not paid salaries for up to a year.
The Sogakope based club, WAFA did this in a press release rubbishing the rumors and setting the records straight
In the past week, a defender at the club, Konadu Yiadom has been quoted by Kumasi based Angel Fm saying that the club has failed to pay their staff salaries and only pay allowances.
This revelation was received by a lot of shock and criticism from football loving fans who have in the past praised the club for its outstanding management modules.
The club have now come out to squash the rumors saying they are false,
The statement read on the club’s social media pages read: ”Probably one of our players was misquoted in circling online publications.
”#WAFAcademySC has more than 30 players under contract and for many years salaries are always paid before the end of every month.
”Also, bonuses are paid after every game.
”Besides that, players and staff get free formal education, accommodation, food and medication.”
WAFA were enduring a rather underwhelming start to the suspended Ghana Premier League season, with shocking losses like the 2-1 home loss to Liberty and the 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Legon Cities. They will hope for a turn of luck in results when football does resume.
