The 2019 edition of the International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) came off in Kingston, Jamaica over the weekend and self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale and the King in the North, Fancy Gadam won awards at the ceremony.
Breaking the news on his instagram page on Sunday, the SM boss displayed his two awards and thanked his fans for voting for him to win the prestigious award. he is guoted saying;
“The good news is wejust won 2 awards last night in Jamaica at the the 2019 IRAWMA AWARDS,
Best Music Video- Gringo
Best Afro-beat Entertainer
Infact I am speechless but will have to thank God for this great honor and the Shatta Movement Empire for voting… let’s celebrate this award people… it’s a world wide thing!!”
Shatta Wale won two awards for the night; the Best music video award with his song Gringo and best afro-beat entertainer. He won ahead of Sean Paul, Morgan Heritage, Davido, Stonebwoy, and more.
The King in the North, Fancy Gadam also went home with an award; Most promising entertainer. He also took to his instagram page to announce his fortune saying;
”This is for my for my people. I dedicate this to all my loyal fan dem . We won big in Jamaica 🇯🇲 !! Congrats to us”
