Popular Tamale based musician, Sherrif Abdul Majeed popularly known as Maccasio has replied Fancy Gadam moments after he said he invited Maccasio to his peace concert but didn’t see him and his team at the concert.
Maccasio told Sammy Flex of Accra based Zylofon Fm on Tuesday that his rival based in the North didn’t want him and his management at the Peace Concert which he organized at the Gbewaa Palace. “They didn’t want me to be part of it.”
Fancy Gadam put up a Peace concert at the Gbewaa Palace at Dagbon, Tamale over the weekend to celebrate the peace that has been fostered amongst the Yakubus and the Andanis, bringing an end to the long misunderstanding between the two groups. As many expected in the North, Maccasio was supposed to be on the show because Fancy Gadam was preaching peace when he is known to be at loggerheads with colleague musician Maccasio. In an earlier interview, Fancy said he invited his rival but his camp refused to honor his invitation.
Narrating his side of the story moments after, Maccasio told Sammy Flex that he didn’t receive any email as told by Fancy Gadam. He said even if Fancy and his team sent the email, he feels they could have called him to personally tell him about the initiative since they were all located in Tamale, and were doing it for peace.
He added that Fancy Gadam and his management added him when they realized they were receiving backlashes from people. “This is a big show. I can’t be a surprise artiste. I wasn’t on the flier they posted.”
The Tamale based musician said his rival and his camp knows he is equally a big artiste and should have notified him 2 or 3 weeks prior to the concert. He added that they put up the show for the sake of glory because if they wanted peace, they could have invited other legends in Tamale to perform but they didn’t.
He however stated that he holds no grudge against Fancy Gadam, adding that they will stage a big concert in Tamale together later this year.
