Top Ghanaian reggae and dancehall music sensations, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini have been nominated for this year’s 37th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) together with other top African acts.
The annual award ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 11th of May, 2019 at Kingston, Jamaica and is dubbed ‘Bob Marley Transition Day and 50 years of Reggae’.
The three top dancehall acts in were the only artistes to be nominated from Ghana.
SM god, Shatta Wale grabbed 2 nominations, first with his music video GRINGO which was nominated for the Video of the year category and also in the Afro-beat artiste of the year category.
Stonebwoy also grabbed 2 nominations, first from the Afro-beats artiste of the year category and Music video of the year category with the song Africa x Jamaica which he featured on with Diamond Platinumz from Tanzania and Grammy Award winner Morgan Heritage.
Samini grabbed a nomination in the Video of the year category with his song My Own off the Untamed album.
Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini will be competing for awards with artistes like Davido, Diamond Platinum, Flavour, Damian Marley and Sean Paul.
