Errol Barnett was born in Milton Keynes, England to a Jamaican father, Michael Christie, and an English mother, Pamela.

His mother later married Gary Barnett, a US Air Force sergeant, and the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

Barnett has English, German, and Jamaican heritage.
