Two women were found murdered in Ned Houk Park, located north of Clovis, New Mexico.
The victims have been identified as Samantha Cisneros, 23, and Taryn Allen, 23, both from Texico.
An anonymous caller alerted authorities at around 4:30 p.m. after discovering the bodies near a silver Dodge minivan.
Police confirmed both women died from gunshot wounds.
Cisneros’ 5-year-old daughter was covered in blood from a head injury.
She was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center and then transferred to a hospital in Lubbock.
Officers found an infant car seat, an infant stroller and a small baby bottle left. They believe Cisneros’ 10-month-old child, Eleia Maria Torres, was abducted by the murder suspect.
An AMBER Alert was issued for Torres.
According to New Mexico State Police, Torres is 28 inches tall, and weighs 23 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.
The suspect could be driving a maroon Honda.
Clovis Deputy Police Chief Trevor Thron said investigators had “no clue” what led to the deaths.
“We do know they were supposed to be at Walmart, from what family members knew, selling puppies,” Thron said.
“They had five puppies inside their vehicle at Ned Houk. Everybody thought they were at Walmart with the puppies. We’re not sure if they were at Walmart and then went to Ned Houk, we just don’t know.”
