Early Life
Candy has always been a tomboy since childhood – she used to play with the guys, climb trees, play tag, jump down stuff and do all the other things that guys do when they grow up.
Although she had some female friends when she was younger, she soon found that playing with dolls and acting wasn’t her favorite activity.
She was always encouraged by her parents to participate in sports or play music.
She tried everything, judo, dancing, badminton, playing the saxophone, playing guitar, djembe and probably way more but never really stuck to one thing.
Career
Candy used to work as a youth worker and make ends meet, but recently she quit that job to focus on her skating full-time.
She also conducts workshops at elementary schools to help kids build more confidence.
She’s the No. 8-ranked women’s street skateboarder in the world, according to World Skate, and has competed in 11 X Games — finishing as high as fourth in both 2016 and 2018.
