Samini has added his voice to the numerous Ghanaians calling for a lockdown of the country and has called on government to adhere to the cries of the people, saying it is the only logical way to go in the current crisis.
The COVID 19, known globally as the corona virus has taken the world by storm, infecting over 400,000 people globally and killing over 20,000 people.
This has forced many governments across the world to institute a lockdown and restricting entry to and fro their countries.
In Ghana, there has been over 100 cases reported so far, causing fear and panic in the country considering the limited number of medical facilities available.
This has caused a huge number of Ghanaians to call for a lockdown of the country, even though the president is still adamant on enforcing these calls.
In view of this, Samini has established that a lockdown will help combat the deadly corona virus spread. In a tweet by the award-winning dancehall musician, he quizzed how the country and economy will run should people start dying. He tweeted;
“What’s an economy without the people? Lockdown as harsh as it might sound is the logical way to go at the moment. Boarders must be locked down to be able to contain and control the spread. Sometimes when the sense is clear debates are just waste of time. #LockdownNow pls”
