Hakeem Jeffries assumed the position of official representative for the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives early in 2023.

This came after Nancy Pelosi announced her decision to step down from the position in November 2022.

Hakeem Jeffries is an American politician born in Brooklyn, New York on 4th August, 1970. He grew in Crown Heights.

He attended Midwood High School and later proceeded to attain a master in public policy form George Pubic Policy Institute (GPPI).

He also continued to attain a law degree from the New York University and worked at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. He chose to follow politics even though he rose to the ranks of partner.

Jeffries is now serving in his fifth term in congress since he was elected.

He political jurisdiction in New York covers much of Brooklyn and Queens.

He has also served as a member of the House Judiciary Committee and House Budget Committee.

He is also known to be an advocate of social and economic justice and was instrumental in the passing of the ‘George Floyd Justice in Policing Act’.

He is married Kennisandra Jeffries, a supportive wife and a social service worker in New York.

The couple lives with their two sons in Prospect Heights, New York.
