Freda Rhymz born Freda Baffour Awuah is a talented and creative rapper and songwriter from Ghana who makes music in three languages (English, Twi, and Pidgin). She was born on the 20th August, 1993. The last born of 6 siblings.

She attended St. Anthony of Padua, Sunyani for her Junior High School Education and followed up with Dormaa Senior High in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The name Freda Rhymz was borne during her senior high school days. It came about as she rhymed a lot with words. Rap music was just a hobby there and she just did it for the fun of it. One cypher did come through though it will never be heard as it got stuck in the campus only.

She holds a Degree In Fine Arts from the Methodist University in Accra Ghana. During this period of trying to gain the degree, she paid extra attention to the rap craft as she made it part and parcel of her life. Her first freestyle “Make Name” was released with a video during this period. It was just back to back freestyles as a foundation builder.

The type of music she creates ranges across Afrobeats, Hiphop, Hiplife and Highlife. Music has been a part of her since her childhood. She listens to Sarkodie, DDB,Nicki Minaj and many more. The call to make music is more than just a call to fame for her, it’s a resolution that she’s very passionate about.

She did a freestyle to Sarkodie’s ‘New Guy’ featuring Ace Hood few days after the song was released. Fortunately for her, Sarkodie was impressed so the video was featured on Sark’s instagram which is a big deal. Freda Rhymz worked with the Hashtag Music Group and had the chance to share the same stage with Pappy Kojo and CJ Biggerman.

During the period with Hashtag Music Group, she entered the MTN Hitmaker Competition in 2017. She emerged as the winner on the final day.

From there, she was signed on to Black Avenue Musik which is headed by Desmond Blackmore aka D-Black. Under the label she released Jammin, I dey Go Ft KelvynBoy and Pay ft D-Black and a couple of freestyles. She’s set to put out good music for the masses and promises nothing but hits only.

She is currently signed to Young Mission Entertainment and is being managed by A.V.O (Africa’s Very Own).
