A shooting in Dayton, Ohio, early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of 26-year-old nurse, Montanae Davis.
The incident occurred at a residence on Torrington Place.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after 2:49 am and found Montanae Davis.
They attempted life-saving measures, but she was ultimately transported to Miami Valley Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to dispatch records, a woman called 911 prior to the shooting, reporting threats from her ex-boyfriend, Jamartay Brown.
Jamartay Brown, the suspect named in the call was later arrested on Wednesday afternoon on preliminary charges of murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary.
Another woman called dispatch from the same address later and reported a man kicked in the back door while she was sleeping at her friend’s house.
The caller indicated the man had a gun and assaulted her friend.
She said she also had a gun and had fired it, according to dispatch records.

She attended Thurgood Marshall High School, pursued early childhood education at Wright State University, and studied nursing at Ohio Institute of Allied Science.
