The Electoral Commission (EC) has disqualified about 30,000 people out of about 17 million people who took part in the voter’s registration exercise from taking part in the December 2020 polls.
Speaking on Joy News, Deputy EC Commissioner in charge of Corporate Services, Dr Eric Bossman Asare noted that these persons cannot vote because of infractions they commited.
He cited instances of multiple registration and instances where people registered outside the stipulated time; insisting that these disqualifications followed legal and due process.
Dr. Bossman however assured that names of Ghanaians who went through the registration successfully remains intact and they’ll be able to vote without issues on December 7.
