DSP Effia Tenge is the head of the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, responsible for managing police-media communications, establishing and maintaining goodwill between the police and its public, including all PR activities within Accra.
She has over a decade experience in public relations with the Ghana Police Service.
Education
As part of her academic laurels, DSP Effia Tenge holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Relations (Ghana Institute of Journalism, Accra), B. A (Hons) in Business Administration (Methodist University College, Accra) and a Diploma in Communication Studies (Ghana Institute of Journalism).
Her passion for work especially in the area of security motivated her to study and acquire an M.A in Conflict, Peace, and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC), Accra.
Career
Until her current assignment, she headed the Media Monitoring Desk (National Police Headquarters) where she supervised and analyzed media contents on police reportage.
As part of her daily PR activities, she sensitizes the public on security-related issues and preventive crimes; conducts research on public perception on police operational activities; writing articles, press releases, speeches, reports, organizing press conferences and events.
DSP Effia Tenge embarks on a series of outreach programs in schools, churches, communities, and business organizations to share basic security information that will sharpen the alertness skills of the public.
