The Alabama police officer who was captured on video showing a handcuffed man being hit with a stun gun has been identified as Dana Elmore.

According to our investigations, Dana Elmore is also associated with the state’s Reform Police Department, according to WVTM13.

According to the department’s official website, she even received the Life Saving Award for her contribution to protecting and serving the citizens of Pickens County.

What happened

The incident occurred Saturday during a traffic stop from the Reform Police Department in Pickens County ordering the Black man later identified as Micah Washington to “stand up” after he was handcuffed in the roadway in Pickens County.

Dana Elmore then tells Micah to lay down on the front of a vehicle, which he does face down.

Officer Dana then holds a stun gun to the man’s back while she goes through his pockets.

She tells him to “stay still” at which point he says, “I ain’t doing shit, bro. I got a gun right there.”

The officer laughs as she retrieves the gun and says, “Oh yea.”

She then deploys the stun gun directly into the man’s back, telling him to “shut the (expletive) up” as he screams.

The man then begins to cry, repeatedly saying, “Oh my God.”

The officer then says, “Do you want it again?” as the man continues to cry. “Shut your bitch ass up,’’ the officer says.

That’s where the video ended.

Rally in Reform for Micah Washington

Monday afternoon – people in the community gathered outside the Reform Municipal Building for an organized rally.

They had signs and spoke about the horror of the situation for those who witnessed it or are friends and family of Washington.

Jalesis Rice – Micah’s Girlfriend was in the car and witnessed the incident.

She is still horrified – “When I seen it I couldn’t do nothing but cry – I couldn’t do nothing but cry.”

She says Washington was driving her car and was replacing a blown out tire whenever they were approached by the police officer.
