Charles Chukwuma Soludo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Nsukka, Enugu state, after completing his primary and secondary education.

Professor Soludo served as the chief executive officer of the National Planning Commission of Nigeria in 2003.
His appointment as Chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) occurred in May 2004.
On the 16th of September 2019, the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, appointed him to be part of the newly-formed Economic Advisory Council (EAC), which will have 8 members.
