Asha Weir was one of four Pepperdine University students killed when a BMW crashed into a parked car and then hit them in Malibu on Tuesday night.
She was due to graduate from the Seaver College of Liberal Arts in the Spring.
Asha started their career as a Marketing Assistant at Vivid Candi Marketing Agency, where they focused on SEO and copywriting for blog posts.
Asha also played a role in promoting social media engagement and assisting with influencer outreach.
Next, Asha worked as a Public Relations Assistant at Jenny Packham, where they communicated with clients, researched fashion trends, and assisted in events and photoshoots.
Asha Weir attended Perkiomen Valley High School from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained their High School Diploma.
Asha then enrolled at Pepperdine University in 2020 and is expected to graduate in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature.
What happened?
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 21600 block of Pacific Coast Highway and the victims died at the scene.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Capt. Jennifer Seetoo said at a Tuesday press conference that Fraser Bohm was traveling westbound when he “lost control of his vehicle and swerved towards the shoulder of the north side of Pacific Coast Highway,” hit three parked vehicles, then struck and killed Rolston, Stewart, Weir, and Williams.
“The suspect was arrested for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence,” the captain said. “The identity of the deceased will be released by the coroner’s office once the identities have been determined.”
