The world of mixed martial arts was left in shock on May 1st, 2023, when former UFC fighter Felipe Colares tragically passed away at the young age of 29.
The Brazilian fighter was killed in a bus accident while returning home from training in Rio de Janeiro.
Colares was immediately taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during transit.
He held a professional MMA record of 11 victories and four defeats.
He made his debut in the sport back in 2013, winning his first eight fights.
The South American became the Jungle Fight featherweight champion in 2017.
He then began fighting under the UFC’s banner in 2019, starting out with a defeat to Geraldo de Freitas.
Colares bounced back with a win over Domingo Pilarte, before another loss at the hands of Montel Jackson.
