Former Pop Idol star Darius Campbell has died aged 41.
The singer and actor was found dead in his apartment in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11.
Darius Campbell: Cause of death
On August 16, 2022, a statement released from Campbell’s family confirmed the star’s death.
A statement read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh. Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners’ office.
“The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.
“We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother.”
His cause of death remains unknown.

Who was Darius Campbell?
Darius Campbell was a British singer-songwriter, actor and producer born in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 19, 1980.
The tall dark and handsome Scot grew up in the Bearsden neighbourhood of Glasgow with two younger brothers.
He attended the Glasgow Academy and studied English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh before his pop career came calling.
He was born with the name Dairus Danesh but changed his name to his mother’s maiden name Campbell in 2010.
