Shawntae Harris-Dupart, better known by her stage name Da Brat is having a baby.
The 48-year-old famed rapper announced the news exclusively to People on Feb. 21, revealing to the outlet that she and her wife, Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, are expecting their first child together.
“It’s been quite a journey,” said Da Brat, adding, “There’s a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40.”

Da Brat’s due date is July 27, 2023.
The celebrity couple took to Instagram on Thursday (Jun. 16) to reveal how they are preparing for their labor and delivery experience.
“Our due date is 7/27,” Da Brat and Judy shared. “Our doctor said that we can safely do it at 38 weeks as we are a mature age for pregnancy, which would be 7/13,” the celebrity couple added. “Well, last night we came here to the hospital and are trying to keep him in at least another two weeks but he may have other plans.”

Is Da Brat pregnant with a baby boy or baby girl?
Da Brat hasn’t spoken about the gender yet, so it’s not known whether she’s expecting a baby boy or a baby girl.
All that matters obviously is that she welcomes a healthy bundle of joy.
Health complications and miscarriage
The rapper had to undergo surgery to remove fibroids and polyps before the embryo transfer, while Harris-Dupart had suffered ‘major’ health complications during her egg retrieval.
Da Brat also revealed she’d had a devastating miscarriage, saying: “I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted. I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me. Luckily we still had quite a few of her eggs left.
The musician said she is feeling ‘excited and exhausted’ in her second trimester, adding she doesn’t have any cravings or nausea yet.
