World Wresrling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler and current WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston Sarkodie Mensah popularly known as Kofi Kingston is set to begin a 4 day visit in Ghana from Thursday May 30th.

His official visit which is tagged as ‘historic’ is in line with Ghana’s ‘Year Of Return’ and is also an opportunity for the wrestler to tour his indigenous country of origin after he left its shores some years ago.

Some weeks ago, the young wrestler who describes himself as a Ghanaian won the WWE championship belt at Wrestlemania and became the first black man to win the belt. Ever since, rumors of his visit to his homeland have circulated on social media.

The WWE Champion is set to begin his 4 day visit on May 30th where he is set to pay a courtesy call on the President of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo at the Flagstaff House in Accra. He will continue to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi where he will pay homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Well it’s officially official. For the first time since 1993, I’m going back to my home country! Though it was 26 years ago, I still have so many vivid memories of my last visit to Ghana. I’m beyond excited to make many more in a few short weeks! 🙌🏾

He will also visit historic tourist sites such as the Christianborg Castle, Lake Bosomtwe, among others. He will also hold a children’s rally and visit the mother and baby unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The wrestler will also visit his hometowns where he traces his roots ( Atwina  Techiman and Ejisu).

Throughout all these activities, he and his team from the WWE who will be accompanying him to shoot a documentary on him will be holding press briefings.
