The handlers of former President John Dramani Mahama have said they do not need the presence of state security at the Office of the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Police officers were deployed to the Cantonment office of Mr Mahama on Wednesday morning after they picked intelligence that some persons were about blocking the streets in front of the office.
However, the lawmaker for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, who engaged one of the officers, said the NDC and the other persons, who were at the Office of John Mahama at the time, had not done anything to warrant the police presence there.
On that note, he told the female officer that they didn’t see the need for the men in uniform to be there.
However, the officer told Sam George that it was her duty as a peace enforcement officer to ensure that there is law and order in every part of the country, including the residence of Mr Mahama.
She further revealed that they had picked intelligence that some persons were about to block the roads in the area, hence their presence there.
