Okudzeto Ablakwa Resigns From Parliament’s Appointments Committee After Ofori Atta’s Approval

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has tendered in his resignation to the Speaker of Parliament, resigning from the Appointments committee of the House.

Okudzeto Ablakwa resignation comes after the consensus approval of finance minister Ken Ofori Atta which has drawn much criticism from the rank and file of the NDC.

In a letter dated March 30, addressed to the Speaker, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, Okudzeto explained that this was “after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations.

Mr Ablakwa indicated to the Speaker that his resignation takes immediate effect, meaning he will not be on the committee for the approval of President Akufo-Addo’s deputy minister nominees.
