NDC reveals intention to overturn 5 parliamentary seats declared for NPP in court

The opposition NDC has disclosed that it plans on going to court to in a bid to overturn some 5 constituency results declared in favour of the ruling NPP at the just ended December 7th polls.

A high ranking member and member of the NDC’s legal team, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed said this whiles in an interview with Joy News.

The two biggest political parties in Ghana, the NDC and the NPP have been on each other’s case for some days now after the election results were declared in favour of the NPP. NDC claims to have won over 140 seats in parliament and accuses the EC for conniving with the NPP to rig the elections. They have hence rejected the presidential results and are yet to disclose their next step of action.

In the said interview, Baba Jamal noted that the party will soon take to the judiciary to prove it won some 5 seats declared in favour of the NPP. He said;

“We have not still accepted the final result of Techiman South because we insist that there was no collation at Techiman South and for that matter declaration that was done was not legal.

“We are also contesting Zabzugu, where a secret declaration was done by the EC at a location that the NDC did not have its people,”

Sefwi Wiawso, Tarkwa Nsuaem and Essikado Ketan are all seats we are going to contest.”
