A tragic incident occurred outside an Ocoee Planet Fitness on Friday morning, resulting in the death of a woman who was severely injured.
The police were alerted about a disturbance in the parking lot of the gym around 7:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jessica L. Steigelman, a resident of Winter Garden, lying unresponsive on the ground.
Two bystanders were holding a 55-year-old man named Shannon W. King.
Unfortunately, Steigelman succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.
King is now regarded as the primary suspect in this case.
Planet Fitness shared the following statement
“Our thoughts are with the victim. We are cooperating with police in their investigation and do not have any additional information to share at this time. We refer you to the appropriate local authorities.”
