The 2019 African Cup of Nations games will be played in Egypt as they have been given the nod to host the tournament as Cameroon was stripped off the rights some months ago.
CAF had the option of choosing between Egypt and South Africa, as they were the two countries who submitted their bids to host the flagship tournament in June 2019.
On Tuesday, in a CAF Executive Council meeting in Dakar, Senegal, Egypt polled more votes to become the emergency hosts this year’s event.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will for the first time involve 24 teams and also played in June and not the traditional January.
