Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has charged broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi to use his ‘Kokrokoo’ Morning show platform to educate Ghanaians on the need to pay the proposed new taxes to revive the economy.
Speaking on the show, the Suame Lawmaker noted that Ghanaians must understand why they are being asked to pay those taxes and therefore, just as Mr Kayi uses his show to help people air their grievances, he must also educate them with it.
“Surprisingly, I’ve heard people suggesting that government should rather stimulate the economy but how do you do that without injecting resources? Injecting the resources also requires funds and where do we get that funds from? So I believe that instead of going for external borrowing, we must be self-supporting to reduce the country’s destock,” he was quoted by ghanaweb.
He continued, “So Kwame, don’t just moderate, you are like a referee so as you allow people to use your medium to share their grievances, you must also speak the truth you know to safe our nation.”
“It is the responsibility of all of us to come to the discussion table and find a solution,” he added.
