The 2 awards left; 1 belongs to Stonebwoy and the other for Shatta Wale
Host of regular morning show on Peace Fm, also the Master of Ceremony (MC) for the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has opened up on why Charter House did not present the awards for Popular Song of the Year and Artiste of The Year category.
In an exclusive interview on Neat Fm, the award-winning broadcaster established that Chatter House, organisers of the VGMAs had to halt the presentation of those awards for security reasons.
He explained both of the artistes legitimately won one of the two awards and looking at what transpired between the fans of the two artistes, there was no way they could have presented those awards to them.
“There were two awards left to be presented; artiste of the year and song of the year. One was for Stonebwoy and the other was for Shatta Wale. What would we have done if the same incident occurred? So we had to suspend presenting those awards”.
Chairman General, as he is affectionately called, expressed his disappointment at the two artistes for pulling up such a reckless behavior on stage. He said there were high ranking dignitaries and diplomats among the crowd and the act by these two artistes was disgraceful to the country.
