A 26-year-old woman, Brittany Richie, lost her life in a shooting early Sunday morning in north St. Louis.
Police responded to reports of gunfire around 2:45 am on the 2900 block of Thomas Avenue in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers found Ms. Richie suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.
She was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities apprehended a suspect, but details regarding the individual and the circumstances of the shooting remain undisclosed.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Division is actively investigating the incident.
