(Squid Game Cast) —The Squid Game has captivated Netflix users to the point that it is now the most-watched program on the streaming service.

- Lee Jung Jae as Seong Gi-hun
Lee Jung Jae plays the lead role as Seong Gi-hun, a gambler living with his mother.
Having previously appeared in An Affair, Housemaid, City of the Rising Sun, and Chief of Staff, the model and actor is thrilled, but also humbled, by the success of Squid Game.
The actor, according to Star, says that he has been receiving words of congratulations since the show was premiered on Netflix.
- Jung Ho-yeon as Kang Sae-byeok
Jung has been a contestant on Korea’s Next Top Model since 2013, but Squid Game was her first acting gig.
Her character is Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector who hopes to use the game winnings to improve the lives of her and her younger brother, who lives in an orphanage.
Recently, she was featured in Korean editions of ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, W, and Marie Claire.
- Park Hae-soo as Cho Sang-woo
Before Squid Game, Park appeared on shows including Prison Playbook and Legend of the Blue Sea.
The Korean version of Money Heist will be his next project.
Besides enjoying the success of his Netflix series, Park celebrated an important milestone in his personal life as a new dad.
On Sept. 29, he and his wife welcomed their first child together, a boy.
- Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho
Wi portrays the character of a detective, Jun-ho, who sneaks into the Game to look for his brother’s killer.
In a recent interview with Men’s Health Korea, the actor claimed he had been ” engrossed” by the script.
In addition to Squid Game, Wi has appeared in other movies like Midnight and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and television shows like Romance Is a Bonus Book and 18 Again.
- Anupam Tripathi as Ali
India Times reports that Tripathi, who was born in India, moved to Korea in 2010 to study at the Korea National University of Arts.
Having debuted in the 2014 film Ode to My Father, he went on to land several small roles thereafter.
Announcing the release of Squid Game on Instagram, he wrote, “No words to express my gratitude to the people all over the world, who all are loving and blessing Ali and [Squid Game].”
