Samuel Haskell Jr. is a 35-year-old man who was arrested on November 9, 2023, on suspicion of murdering his wife, Mei Haskell.
The couple lived in Tarzana, California, with their three children. On November 8, 2023, a homeless man found a headless female torso in a dumpster in Tarzana.
Police later identified the torso as belonging to Mei Haskell.
Samuel Haskell Jr is the son of Sam Haskell Sr., a well-known Hollywood television producer who resigned as CEO of the Miss America organization in 2017 after an email scandal.
Haskell Jr. himself worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, but he was not as well-known as his father.
Murder and investigation
Police believe that Samuel Haskell Jr killed his wife on November 8, 2023.
They are still investigating the motive for the murder, but they believe that it may have been a domestic dispute.
Haskell Jr. was arrested on November 9, 2023, at a mall in Topanga, California. He is currently being held in jail without bail.
In addition to the headless torso, police have also found other evidence linking Haskell Jr. to the murder.
They have found bloody evidence in his home, as well as in his wife’s car.
They have also found evidence that Haskell Jr. tried to clean up the crime scene.
Missing persons
In addition to Mei Haskell, her parents, Gaoshan Li and YanXiang Wang, are also missing.
They lived with the couple and their three children in Tarzana.
Police are now searching for the missing grandparents and their SUV – a white VW Tiguan.
Police believe that Haskell Jr. may have also killed his wife’s parents.
They are still investigating the circumstances of their disappearance.
