Billionaire Canadian NHL team owner, Daryl Katz, is facing accusations he paid Sage Humphries , a teenage ballet dancer $75,000 in exchange for sexual favors, according to a civil suit.
In a counterclaim filed in U.S. District Court in Nevada, a third party alleges that billionaire Daryl Katz had a sexual relationship with ballerina Sage Humphries when she was underage.
The counterclaim follows a lawsuit filed in 2021 by Humphries and other ballet dancers accusing Mitchell Taylor Button and his wife, Dusty, of sexual abuse.
The claim seeks to hold the men responsible for any damages.
‘Humphries was literally a child prostitute to a billionaire,’ the claim reads, ‘and her mother assisted her in laundering the money she was paid and in trafficking her to Katz.’

The Buttons submitted alleged text messages between Humphries and Katz from when Katz was 53 and Humphries 17, under the name ‘D K’ to attempt to substantiate the allegations. The number they claim to be Katz has a 780 area code, the most common number for the Edmonton area.
Katz is accused of writing to Humphries: ‘If my guys send u funds will u spend it on/keep it for yourself? And just between us? Even though u r wise beyond your years given our respective ages it would be taken the wrong way.’
Humphries allegedly replies: ‘Yes .. Just between us.’
Katz: ‘OK will have one of my guys email u. He will send you 50K.
A lawyer representing Katz denied the allegations to CBC News.
Robert Klieger claims that Katz and Humphries did not have a relationship but met twice in 2016 to discuss a potential film project.
‘One of Daryl’s friends connected him with Sage because Sage was working with some producing partners on shopping a motion picture project that they had put together, basically, and it was based in the ballet world,’ said Klieger, who called the accusations against his client ‘a shakedown and a sideshow.’
‘They ultimately decided to pass on the project. But during the period of time that the project was under consideration, they asked for some help to keep with the funding of the project to keep it going. And that’s the $75,000 that is at issue,‘ said Klieger.
Katz is a partner in Joel Silver’s film company.
