The National Communicator for the National Democratic Congress, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has said that no one is above the party and its supremacy.

His comments were in reaction to the dismissal of the former general secretary of the party, Koku Anyidoho on Tuesday.

Koku Anyidoho was temporarily suspended from the membership of the NDC on Tuesday. In a statement signed by the general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia on Tuesday, he said his suspension was necessary so as to allow the disciplinary committee to look into issues of bad conduct on the side of Koku Anyidoho.

Speaking to Asempa Fm on Tuesday, Sammy Gyamfi said the NDC as a party is bigger than any member and holds the right to dismiss anybody who refuses to put up a good attitude in the party.

He added that Koku Anyidoho wasn’t the first person to be suspended, noting that other people such as Allotey Jacobs, etc have gone on that road. He further added that there is the possibility of Koku Anyidoho to be reinstated if he defends his actions fairly at the disciplinary committee hearing.

He said;

This is not the first time we are applying the process. We don’t discriminate in our party so you are a flag bearer and you deserve to be punished you will be punished. There have been people who have been punished

No one is above the party, we’ve suspended the General Secretary before, Josiah Ayee, Allotey Jacobs also suffered the same thing.”

“If you fail to meet the committee and you tell your story, they can decide to lift the suspension or expel you from the party. Every party has its own rules. These are articles in our constitution.”
