Joseph Asamoah Boateng popularly known as Asa B has stated that he has no intentions of returning to parliament to serve as a member of parliament.

Asa B served as the Member of Parliament in the 4th parliament of the fourth republic between 2004 to 2008. He also served as the minister for local government and rural development.

In an interview with GTV, the former MP said his focus since serving as an MP and bowing out has changed over the years. He showed interest in serving in state owned enterprises since they all fall within service to the state and pledged support to the current  MP in the provision of jobs for the youth and infrastructure. He said;

“as for parliamentary work I have finished. I congratulate my MP Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford who won decisively in Mfantseman. Congratulations Ophelia we will do our best to make her succeed and find work for the youths.

for me going forward is serving the people. I served as an MP and a Minister, right now I am looking at serving the State Owned Enterprises because that is equally an important job. Once you serve the person the position is not important to me”
