Police are investigating after a Pawtucket man was killed in a crash involving a dump truck Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the intersection of Plainfield Street and Union Avenue in Providence for reports of a crash with injuries.
Investigators believe a car hit the rear left side of a construction dump truck on Plainfield Street. The car sustained significant front-end and windshield damage, police added.
The driver of the car, identified by police as 29-year-old Joshua Diaz, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
