A 22-year-old woman died after being involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer near the Adams/Franklin County line Thursday night, according to state police.
Jocelyn Megee, of Adams County, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened around 7 p.m. in the 3000 block of Waynesboro Pike, Liberty Township, state police said.
Megee, driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, lost control in the heavy rain while driving east on Waynesboro Pike, causing her vehicle to veer off the road and crash into an embankment, police said.
The Jeep flipped on its driver’s side and slid into the oncoming westbound lane, crashing into the front of a westbound tractor-trailer, police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t hurt. The Adams County coroner’s office responded to the scene.
The crash closed a section of the road in both directions for four hours.
