The Atlanta Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Jacob Parker, who went missing from his home in Northwest Atlanta on Saturday night, December 16th.
Details of the Disappearance:
- Name: Jacob Parker
- Age: 16
- Last seen: Leaving his home on Old Georgian Terrace NW Atlanta on Saturday, December 16th, at approximately 7:43 pm.
- Description: 5 feet 6 inches tall, 110 pounds, curly black hair, may or may not be wearing glasses. Last seen wearing a black shirt and black sweatpants.
Argument father Joe Parker
According to police reports, Jacob disappeared after an argument with his father, Joe Parker.
His father called police and officers responded just before 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
He is believed to have left his home on foot.

Hey all, if you know Jacob, you know how precious he is to us. Yesterday at approx 11am (EST) he ran away. He left without his phone. We’ve had no contact with him since. He was wearing tye shirt he has on here, but no glasses (wears contacts now) if you know anything or hear anything please call me or call 911 to let them know. Webe been up all night looking. APD has special missing persons unit out looking. Any help, esp prayer, is much appreciated.
Community members rally around missing teen Jacob Parker’s family
On Sunday, December 17, Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church held a vigil for 16-year-old Jacob Parker.
As police continued to search for the teen, concerned community members took to social media to amplify the message of his disappearance, hoping it would generate a lead to his whereabouts.
Parker’s parents’ friend
Parker’s parents’ friend, Jane Gilbert, implored people to reach out to the police with information that would help locate the teen. Gilbert revealed that Parker was a sophomore at North Atlanta and left his home without a phone and wallet following an argument with his dad:
“Our friends Kelly and Joe Parker are searching for their son who left the house at 11:am yesterday, Saturday 12/16. Jacob Parker, a sophomore at North Atlanta, is missing and there is a Missing Person filed for him. He left without a phone or wallet. He is wearing this shirt but no glasses. Please call 911 if you see him or know anything and please share this and please pray!”
