A man in Albany, Georgia, Henry Hardwick has been arrested after he allegedly set his wife on fire.

According to the Albany Police Department, 64-year-old Henry Hardwick told police that he was rubbing alcohol on his wife, 67-year-old Amanda Jenkins, on Oct. 22 when he lit a cigarette too close to her, causing her body to catch fire. Jenkins suffered 25% burns to her lower body.

Hardwick said he panicked and was too scared to call for help.

It wasn’t until Jenkins’ daughter came for a visit that she was taken to the hospital.

Jenkins is currently being treated at Phoebe Putney Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

This is an ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
