Chioma Akpotha Reveals Why Nollywood Performs Better Than Other African Movie Industries

The Nollywood movie industry has been tagged as the second best movie industry after Hollywood. Even though some might argue why this is so, it is an undeniable fact that the industry has over the years produced A-standard movies which has made impacts globally. An example is Genivieve Innaji’s ‘The Lion Heart’ movie which received global praise.

Nigerian actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha has waded in on what is making the Nollywood movie industry better over the years and has disclosed that the industry has the needed professionals who are willing and ready to deliver a good job, thus the reason for their excellent performance.

The actress disclosed this in a short interview with Accra based Hitz Fm on Wednesday.

Chioma Akpotha is in Ghana for the iYes Summit which seeks to empower the youth and teach them how to do better amidst the rising global hardship and has seasoned speakers who are going to deliver excellent lessons for the youth.

As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the Nigerian actress told host Andy Dosty that Nollywood are portraying their culture and stories in a better way and have capable professionals who are also delivering on the job. “We are telling our stories better. We have more professionals on the field and we have people who are hungry to do the job right”, she said. Using herself as an example, she said she has a professional platform where she trains upcoming actors who are ready and willing to take on acting professionally.
