Captain Smart In Trouble As CID Investigates GHS25,000 Fraud Allegation Against Him

Captain Smart, a journalist, and broadcaster, has been reported to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police for allegedly defrauding a woman of GH25,000.

This comes after Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako Attah lodged a complaint to the investigative body claiming a woman had alleged that Captain Smart had tricked her into parting GH₵25,000.00, which he promised, was to be used to influence the Roads and Highways Minister to take a certain decision in her favor concerning a building project.

Mr. Amoako Atta, through his lawyer, in a letter dated Monday, August 23, 2021, and addressed to the CID, Police Headquarters, urged the investigative body to cause a full-blown investigation into the allegation made by the woman.

The audio clip of the woman’s submission on Net 2 TV was attached to the attention of the police.
