Bagbin Appoints Asiedu Nketiah As Member Of The Powerful Parliamentary Service Board Against NPP Objections

The Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has appointed the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as a member of the parliamentary service board.

Mr Asiedu Nketiah will serve on the board together with; Minister for Parliamentary affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu, and Mr Abraham Osei Aidoo, a former NPP MP, and former majority leader.

Also serving on the board is the clerk of parliament, Mr Cyril Nsiah. The board is chair by the Speaker of Parliament.

The NPP had raised objections with the appointment of Mr Asiedu Nketiah, on the grounds that he is a general secretary of a political party.

However, the Speaker dismissed the claims, citing the fact that Mr Hackman Owusu Agyemang was once a member of the board, at the same time when he was the Chairman of the NPP Council of Elders.
