Edem has stated Azonto us a music genre contrary to what some fans believe.
A section of fans and industry players on numerous mediums referred to Ghanaian dance move Azonto as a sun music genre, after the dance became a movement form 2011 – 2014.
After Sarkodie began his Bring Back Azonto agenda with his single Hooki Me, some fans have been urging Edem to release an ‘Azonto’ song, however, Edem isn’t ready to entertain such pressures.
One fan called out Edem for not involving himself in the agenda by indirectly removing himself from the conversation when he had an azonto song titled Over.

Responding to the fan, Edem promptly stated ‘Azonto is not a genre of music my guy’.

Edem is right as Azonto was a dance step to a sound which was defined as Afro-pop by DJ Abrantie.
