Ashante Kirksey, a 26-year-old mother of four children was shot and killed in a Warren Francis Avenue home invasion gone wrong around 2 a.m. Saturday.
According to a release from the Warren Police Department, Ashante Kirksey, was found murdered at a residence on the 900 block of Francis Avenue SE.
Ashante Kirksey, also known as Ashante Peddi on Facebook, moved into the normally quiet neighborhood just two weeks ago.
Witnesses revealed that the neighborhood is full of children who regularly play outside.
Neighbors believe her four children were home at the time of the murder.
Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold, a relative of Kirksey, said she was killed in a home invasion that was meant to target a different person.
“She was a great mother and friend, I just looked at her Facebook page and she has numerous posts of people loving on her,” Saffold said. “She had a lovely personality and was always smiling.”
