The President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo has promised the Ashanti Region huge developments for his final 4 year term as president.
The president made this promise when he visited the Manhyia Palace to celebrate the first Akwasidae of 2021 with His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
The Ashanti Region of Ghana is noted as the strongest hold of the governing New Patriotic Party and has been instrumental in the NPP’s quest for power. In the last election, the NPP managed to lead the NDC with over 1 million votes in the Ashanti alone, giving Nana Akuffo Addo a leading advantage over John Mahana of the NDC.
In his speech to the Ashanti King, the president thanked the people of the Ashanti Region for their massive support for him over the years and said his final tenure of office will see him developing the Ashanti Region massively. He said;
“I’m here to thank Otumfuo and the people of Asante for your massive vote and support for me and the NPP party. The four more years you’ll have your share of development but the most important thing is unity.
