Actress Yvonne Okoro has said that the Ghana Movie Industry is collapsing due to the lack of sponsors.

There has been an unending debate on the current state of the movie industry in Ghana. Whereas some players believe it is going through a phase, others are of the believe that the industry is failing and dying.

Reacting to the debate, actress Yvonne Okoro has indicated that she will agree with anyone who argues that the industry is collapsing.

According to her, the industry is collapsing because the industry lacks sponsors and that has affected movie producers who are gradually pulling out of the industry.

She said in an interview with showbiz that”I totally agree with anyone who says the movie industry is collapsing. Truth is, it is difficult getting sponsors for a movie and that is the reason most producers especially the English movie producers are not shooting movies anymore”.

The actress on whether she will want to feature in an action movie answered in affirmative saying “I think it will be interesting to play an active role. I have never tried such roles before and I wish to take up that challenge very soon”.
