Authorities say a 50-year-old Decatur woman is dead and another injured following a shooting in Decatur on Thursday.
Decatur Police responded to a shooting in the parking lot outside of Big Lots located on 6th Ave. SE just after 4 p.m.
Decatur Police say upon arrival, they found a woman and man inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
She’s since been identified as Yvette Fuller of Decatur.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
Later Thursday, Decatur Police said Marcus Fuller surrendered himself to authorities.
He was charged with capital murder and booked in the Morgan County Jail without bond.
Detectives with the Decatur Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene.
Police say the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
