You owe NDC an apology for propagating wrong results of 2020 elections – Elvis Afriyie Ankrah

The director of elections for the opposition of the National Democratic Congress, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has called on the media to render an apology for what he described as wrong figures projected as provisional results for the 2020 elections.

According to him, those results sought to mislead Ghanaians on who was actually leading the elections.

The NDC has been hard on the media during and after the elections for what they described as taking sides to project President Nana Akuffo Addo as winner for the 2020 elections. According to them, certain media houses were influenced to project the incumbent president as the winner of the just-ended elections.

There has also been series of attacks on the media by some NDC party faithful after the 2020 elections.

Speaking in a seminar in Accra, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah noted that the NDC as a party was not against any media house for doing its job but was against certain programs on certain platforms of media houses that propagate falsehood. He indicated that those programs mislead Ghanaians.

He said; “You (the media) owe us an apology for putting out wrong results. So we are talking about specific programs like Paul Adom Otchere’s program and that TV3 program. Those are the ones we are raising issues about. Some of them know but they don’t want to deal with the truth and the people make it look like we are against all the media, it’s not true.”
